Eastertime Comes to Amish Country

Eastertime Comes to Amish Country

March 7, 2016

Everything taught in the Amish church revolves around the Bible's Easter story. Many Amish communities have special services with foot washing and communion in the Easter celebration. Amish families gather for dinner and fellowship just as other Christians do. Like other Sundays in Amish Country, businesses and restaurants are closed, but it could be a fine time for a drive in the greening countryside, or a weekend stay at one of our beautiful inns.

You can celebrate the season in some fun ways. The White House may have its Easter Egg roll, but the Farm at Walnut Creek has its Easter Adventure and Egg Drop! Brightly colored eggs and prizes are dropped from a helicopter onto the lawns of this working farm, for children to collect. This year the Easter Adventure will take place on April 2.
